Don't get your hopes up!

Two posts in one day...

I just wanted to share this, because it is the best thing I've seen in a long time!

After Mo Rocca exclaimed at a taping of NPR’s “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me” that handmade sweaters were “itchy,” the subsequent backlash from the knitting community made him re-evaluate his position and learn how to knit. BUST’s Debbie Stoller was there to help him on his way. Check out the clip below.

New Beginnings

I've had this blog with nothing on it since May 2008. Well before it turns 2 years old, I've decided to do something with it. If nothing else, just to share the latest craft projects I'm working on.

currently I'm working on a wedding capelet for a co-worker. It's turning out beautiful. It makes me think, why didn't I have something like this for my wedding. Oh well, moving on. I'm inserting a picture of the unfinished piece. It's a mixer of three fur yarns; ivory, white, and champagne.

So I started this and never posted. Since then I have completed two wedding shawls. Here are some pictures of them. The first is of Carrie Pack Chowske. Not only did I have the honor of being part of her wedding party, I also was able to create a piece that will always remind her of her wedding day. Photo by http://www.ztphoto.com/

The second picture is Margo Brown Cook. She had a very small private wedding and wanted something to help with the Florida chill. I love the way it turned out. The colors for it are a mix of three fun fur yarns; ivory, white, and champagne.

So now I'm relaxing. I've got two weeks to finish these lovely little shape monsters for my godson, Desmond. He's first birthday is coming up and well these are just fun to learn colors and shapes with.

Overall, I think my crafting is coming along. Don't let this fool you though, I'm reading as well. I finished the newest Anita Blake novel, Flirt by Laurell K. Hamilton. I had doubts because the last couple were not very plot driven, but thought I'd give the newest book a chance. And it was good, maybe I'll try to read the ones I've skipped.

Right now I'm in the middle of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. Word to the wise, if you are just starting this book hang in there! I almost put it down, because of the boring and complex business terminology.

So long for now... Maybe next month?
