Summer Movies 2012

As the temperature continues to rise, it's time to look ahead to this year's summer movie selection. After just seeing the Hunger Games, I'm pinning away for more movies. For now, I'll settle on re-watching trailers for the millionth time.

Speaking of trailers, you should check out movies.ign.com. They do this thing called rewind theater where they break down trailers frame by frame.

Now they don't do it for ever trailer, but they do have an awesome one for Prometheus, which is currently #1 on my summer movie list. This is where I'm going to warn you, most (okay all) the movies listed here are not typical girl movies. I'm an scifi/ action adventure movie girl.

Here is the Prometheus trailer first and the rewind.

I've been waiting for this movie since finishing  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter  last summer. If you haven't read it, do it!!
I find typical history novels a little boring, so anytime you add some fictional vampires, zombies, or sea monsters to it, I'm hooked. This one has an great twist at the end.

Also, who isn't pumped for the Avengers? First, it's directed by Joss Whedon. If you don't know who this is please close this window now. J.K. Google him and watch Dr. Horrible's Song-Along Blog. This guy is awesome and I can't wait to see what he's done with the Avengers. Secondly, who doesn't want to see the Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor all kick ass together. It also helps that all these characters are being played by hunky men. Robert Downy, Jr. and Mark Rufflo being personal favorites.

Here is just one of the trailers available and also a rewind provided by IGN.com

Now I realize this post is getting long with videos and not much comments, but honestly, I think the videos talk for themselves. I love summer for its beautiful weather, vacations, and movies. The above are my top 3 movies for the summer. All the movies below are bonuses.

Here is my list of others to check out.
  • Snow White and the Huntsman - I'm excited for this, but I'd be even more thrilled if Kristen Stewart wasn't playing Snow White. I hope she changes my mind, but some how I think she's going to be over shadowed by Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth.
  • Dark Shadows - I admit at first I didn't know this was based off a 1960s TV series. However, anything that has Tim Burton directing and Johnny Deep starring sign me up.
  • The Amazing Spider-man - You might be thinking another Spider-man movie, didn't the last one bomb with Toby McGuire's dance number? Well give this one a shot. This story is truer to the comic book origins. Starring Andrew Garfield and the loving and funny Emma Stone, this movie is going to be worth seeing if not for the simple fact it opens July 3rd.
  • The Dark Knight Rises - It's the last Batman. Will Anne Hathaway fill  Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman's shoes?
So here is my list. What are you looking forward too? What did I miss one? I did warn you, I am bias to scifi and action adventure movies.

Annual March Post

And here I was thinking I'd missed my annual blog post. Not so fast, Palmer!

Moving full steam ahead into 2012, this is the year of me and the hubbie.
Scott & Seth Avett
In January, we start a new gym and got ourselves personal trainers. Not sure why we didn't do this years ago.

February came and went with a blink of an eye. The highlight of the month was the Avett Brothers concert. Seeing Scott & Seth Avett at the Florida Theater was amazing.

March! This month is always slammed for me. Between work and personal obligations, I'm one busy lady.

I did have a chance to throw a fabulous baby shower for my sister-in-law and future niece.
Here are some photos from the party. I had a create your own onesise or bib station.
I cut out of the awesome designs on my silhoutte. I'm so thankful to have this awesome machine. If you don't know what it is, check it out.
The striped onesise I made with a crocheted flower.

This now brings me up-to-date with 2012 so far. I'm going to try and keep a running list of books I've read for the year and concerts I've seen as well. Look for these hopefully on the side bar soon.

And now things I'm looking forward to in the coming months:

  • Colorado vacation
  • Summer
  • Group trip to Disney
  • BVI - Peter Island
Till next time...
